Tips

A collection of practical tips for Deadline Escape — small things that save Money, time, or ammunition once you know them. This page groups selling, consumables, and general raid play.

Profitable Selling

Guns

  • Guns sell at the same base price whether they have attachments or not.
  • Strip every attachment before selling. Magazines, sights, grips, flashlights, muzzle devices — sell each piece separately for more total Money.
  • Unload magazines before selling. Ammunition inside a sold magazine is lost. Pull the rounds out first.

Consumables with Uses

  • Items like Bandages, Canteens, and Painkillers have a uses counter. The sell price is the same whether the item is full or one use left.
  • Use them up first. Finish a Bandage to full HP before selling it rather than keeping a partially used stack.

Materials

  • Save any trade-in material you recognize — Nokio, Cigarette, Cigar, Cigarette Pack, Cleaner, Sealing Foam, Radio, Binoculars, Phone, CPU, Bird Figurine, Vitamins, Iodine, Gunpowder, Grease, Hunter Cap, Rebel Headpiece, Paracord, Renegade Dogtag, Gas Can, Car Battery, Propane, Rope, SSD, Teddy Bear, Golden Ring, Golden Chain, Golden Wristwatch, Trinket, GPU, Crypt Coin, Golden Frog Figurine, Gold Bar. They unlock trader gear you can't buy for Money alone.

Consumable Usage

Consumption Order

  • Most food items drain hydration as a side effect.
  • Most drinks don't reduce hunger.
  • Eat food first, then drink. You'll recover both meters fully; drinking first wastes the hydration the food will shortly reduce.

Using Items in Raid vs. Hideout

  • During raids: hold left-click to consume an item. Releasing mid-use aborts the action.
  • In the Hideout: select the item and use its CONSUME option for an instant effect.

Moving & Looting While Eating

  • You can move while consuming items. Holding left-click doesn't root you in place.
  • You can loot a container (press F) while still consuming. Good for eating during a safe room sweep.

Ammunition & Magazines

  • Load all rounds into magazines before you deploy. Nothing is worse than finding your mag empty in combat.
  • Easy / Normal difficulty: one ammo stack per weapon is enough for a 2-kill raid.
  • Hard+: carry two stacks, or your raid ends when the last Renegade shrugs off your final shot.
  • Standardize calibers — pistol and SMG both using 9mm, or a DMR and sniper both using 7.62×51.

Medical Items

  • Keep at least two types in quick slots:
    • Painkiller or Pills — fast use, low HP per tick. Emergency combat heal.
    • Bandage or Lesser Medkit — larger HP, slower. For between engagements.
  • Add a Medkit if you have slot room. It's the best HP-per-item in the game at HP +100 × 2.

Loot Priority

High Priority

  • Crypt Coin — 500 $ and a trade-in currency for Night Vision Goggles.
  • Gold Bar, GPU, CPU, RAM, Tablet — high-value electronics.
  • Ammunition stacks — any caliber pays ≥120 $ per 10 rounds at the trader.
  • Attachments — magazines and scopes are always worth carrying.
  • Keys — gate access to high-value rooms; never leave one in a drawer.

Medium Priority

  • Larger backpacks found on rebels/renegades. Nest into your current one to expand inventory.
  • Repair materials — springs, grease, repair kits, armor plates, batteries, tape, nails.

Low Priority

  • Food / water — better consumed in-raid than extracted.
  • Guns / armor — lower per-slot value than the electronics and keys alongside them. Only extract weapons with better durability than your current setup.

Movement & Combat

  • Listen. Rebels and Renegades match your footsteps, so if you stop and still hear movement, a human is pacing nearby.
  • Zombie eyes glow red. If glow persists on a corpse, it was killed by an NPC — there's a human in the area.
  • Runners sprint the instant they detect you. If you hear running footsteps, it's already aware.
  • Use suppressors on Crossroads and Mall to avoid chain-pulling patrols.

Raid Preparation Checklist

Before deploying, confirm:

  • Magazines fully loaded
  • Weapons and armor durability green
  • Medical supplies in quick slots
  • Keys you need for today's map in the Safe Container
  • Food, drink, and spare bandages in the backpack
  • Quest target map matches your deployment map
