Accept Quest

Zac

Zac is the elderly NPC standing next to the shopping cart in the Hideout. Talking to him lets you accept new quests, report completed ones, and collect rewards.

Quests are split into two categories:

  • Main Quests — Story-driven assignments that drive progression and unlock later content.
  • Sub Quests — Optional side jobs that pay out extra Money, XP, and loot.

Many quests are gated behind prerequisites, so you may need to finish a specific earlier quest — or sometimes a combination of several — before a new one appears on Zac's board.

Quest Mechanics

Delivery Rules

For delivery-type quests that ask you to hand in items, a few strict rules apply:

  • You must carry every required item at the same time — partial turn-ins are rejected.
  • Items must sit directly inside your equipped backpack. Items nested inside another container (bag-in-bag, wallets, coolers, etc.) do not count.
  • Walk up to the correct submission point and press F to hand the items over.

Submission Points

Three physical turn-in spots are scattered around the Hideout. Which one a quest uses depends on what you're handing in:

Image Point Location Typical Use
Shopping Cart Shopping Cart Right next to Zac Miscellaneous items
Shelf Shelf Left of the Consumables Trader Consumables & raw materials
Gun Locker Gun Locker Right of the Weapon Trader (T2) Weapons & weapon attachments

The quest description on Zac's board tells you which point to use — delivering to the wrong spot will not register progress.

Tips

  • Keep quest items in your main backpack slots, not inside wallets, coolers, or other containers.
  • Pay attention to which submission point each quest asks for — bringing the right items to the wrong spot does nothing.
  • Don't sell items that Zac might ask for later. Electronics, figurines, dogtags, and clothing items double as quest requirements and trader trade-ins.
  • Clearing main quests promptly is the fastest way to unlock the next tier of both main and sub quests.
  • Sub quests like Scavenger For Supplies pair well with early Warehouse runs for easy XP.
