Viper's Last Shot

Viper's Last Shot is a sub quest from Zac targeting the boss Viper on Crossroads. The reward — an Attachment Box — is one of the best early–mid game sub-quest payouts in the game.

Objective

Eliminate Viper, a Renegade sniper who patrols the Bunker 04 area in a full ghillie suit. You do not need to loot his dog tag to complete the quest — the kill itself is enough.

Walkthrough

1. Accept the quest from Zac in the Hideout.
2. Deploy to Crossroads. The Bunker 04 area sits in the northern/central portion of the map.
3. Approach the Bunker 04 exterior from a flanking angle, staying outside the bunker's aggro radius.
4. Pick off the 3–4 Rebel patrol around the bunker one at a time with a suppressed weapon.
5. Engage Viper at medium range. His XT25 is lethal on long sightlines, so stay in cover and use the terrain to break his line of sight.
6. Mark his position before killing him — the ghillie suit camouflages the body, and finding him afterwards can be difficult.
7. Extract safely and report to Zac.

Strategy

• Suppressed fire is critical. One unsuppressed shot in this area can cascade into a full bunker alert.
• Never hold a long sightline. The XT25 out-ranges most player loadouts.
• If you can't clear him cleanly, retreat — the kill requirement is quest-critical, but the dog tag isn't. Leave the body if you need to disengage.
• Bring at least one Medkit and extra bandages; Viper's rifle can disable a limb in one hit.

Rewards

• Attachment Box — a 9×9 stash expansion dedicated to weapon attachments. Highly valuable early on.
• Standard XP and money.
