Helmets

Helmets add armor to the head slot, reducing damage from shots and melee. A subset of helmets carry a built-in headlight toggleable with the K key — handy for bunker runs without committing a weapon flashlight.

Durability displays turn yellow at ≤20 and red at ≤10. At 0 durability the helmet becomes unusable and must be repaired.

Picking a Helmet

• Biker Helmet — best early-game weight-to-armor ratio: +11 armor for 2 kg.
• Tac Helmet — strongest mid-tier: +17 armor at only 2.8 kg. Great balance point.
• Cop Helmet — top armor rating at +19, but 4.5 kg and pricey to lose.
• Camo Helmet — cosmetic camo does not affect detection, but the +15/2.6 kg trade is solid.
• Army / Black Army Helmet — functionally identical pair; pick whichever you find first.

Purchase

• Football Helmet — 90 $ from the Consumables Trader (available from the start).
• Most mid-tier helmets are looted from Rebels, Renegades, and high-value containers rather than sold directly.

Notes

• Headshot damage is heavily reduced by higher-tier helmets, but crouching and angle matter — a helmet doesn't protect against direct face hits.
• Source does not publish per-helmet durability values. Expect durability to scale roughly with armor rating; repair methods match other armor items.
• Not every helmet has a headlight. Check the item tooltip in your locker before heading into dark interiors.
