Food & Drinks

Food and drinks manage hunger and hydration — two slowly-draining meters you need to keep from hitting zero. Many drinks also swing stamina, making them useful combat consumables in addition to meal replacements.

Food and drinks are sold by the Consumables Trader, found in containers across all maps, and occasionally dropped by zombies and humans.

Food Notes

  • Most foods mildly drain hydration as a side effect (−2 to −8). Eat when you also have a drink to chase it.
  • Pickles and Soup are the only items that restore both hunger and thirst — great in emergencies.
  • MRE is the best raw hunger value per item (+50 × 2 uses), but it costs 2×2 inventory and 2 kg.
  • Peanut Butter has the cheapest hunger per dollar (+34 for 8 $) if you can afford the −8 hydration hit.
  • Crackers stack 4 per slot — the most space-efficient filler food.
  • Cereals has no hydration penalty, matching MRE for slot size but lighter.

Drink Categories

  • Water / juice — pure thirst restore, no stamina swing. Carry at least one on every raid.
  • Sodas & energy drinks — positive stamina (+10 to +60). Pre-drink before a sprint segment.
  • Alcohol — large negative stamina (−40 to −65). Never drink in combat; they sell well to the Consumables Trader.

Drink Tips

  • Energy Drink is the single best stamina buff in the game: +60 stamina for 10 $ in a 1×1 slot.
  • Plastic Water Bottle is the most thirst-per-use at +45 × 2 uses.
  • Keep one 1×1 soda in a quickslot — instant stamina top-up without opening the inventory.
  • Alcohol items are effectively trade goods. Consumables Trader buys them back, and they are used as craft ingredients (Lesser Medkit requires Alcohol ×2).
